SKS Race Blades THE REEL DEAL
I'm not sure it's the GREATEST idea, since it puts cyclists on the sidewalk on North Avenue to cut through the pedestrian median cut to continue down Guiliford. Same if you're going North.
I think we can do better, but in a city that has done so little for it's cyclists for so long (don't mean to sound bratty), I think this is a fair path to get downtown.
Google maps even shows it as a street/alley now, even though you can't cut through it on a motor vehicle at all.
There's even an outdated sign that says pedestrians and motorcycles are not supposed to pass through or even enter the lot.
I've gone this way for a long time, but I'm curious to know what you mean by "meant to be a connecting route" - does this route have some sort of official sanction? That would be a big help in getting normality restored.
Technically this is and will be part of an expanded and more bike friendly Guilliford Avenue north-south route. The city intentionally shortened the drop-arm previously but today it was fully out and blocking people.
Should have an update on this within the week.
